Patek Philippe Aquanaut watch

Patek Philippe

Aquanaut

Ref. 5167A-001

The younger, sportier Patek: steel case, embossed dial, rubber-like composite strap. And still one of the hardest Pateks to buy at retail.

Which one I'd pick

Aquanaut vs Nautilus: the Aquanaut is the steel option in Patek's current sports line and costs a fraction of the white gold Nautilus at retail. Pre-owned, it's still a big premium over retail.

Alternatives worth a look

History

Patek Philippe introduced the Aquanaut in 1997 as a casual, sportier alternative to the Nautilus, aimed at younger buyers.

The first steel model, ref. 5060A, was 35.6 mm with a black checkerboard-style embossed dial and a 'Tropical' composite strap.

The 5167A is today's steel Aquanaut: a 40.8 mm case, an embossed charcoal dial and a strap in a matching composite material, powered by the self-winding 26-330 S C.
