Which one I'd pick
New vs pre-owned: new at $2,662.50 is cheaper than the pre-owned median ($3,050). Buy new.
39 vs 42 mm: Longines makes it in both sizes. The 39 mm is the more versatile fit.
What to check before you buy
- Box and papers: a brand warranty card matters for resale. Grey-market new watches may carry the dealer's warranty instead of the brand's, so ask which one you're getting.
- GMT function: check that the local hour hand jumps in one-hour steps and the date follows it.
- Fakes and red flags: avoid prices far below the grey-market numbers above, stock photos only, or sellers who won't show the caseback, clasp and warranty card.

History
Longines was founded in 1832 and is based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. In 1931 it worked with Charles Lindbergh on the Hour Angle aviation watch.
In 1925 Longines made its first dual-time-zone wristwatch, with the Zulu flag on the dial. 'Zulu' is aviation shorthand for the letter Z, which designates universal time.
The Spirit Zulu Time arrived in 2022. The 39 mm L3.802.4.63.6 uses the COSC-certified L844.4 with a silicon balance spring and up to 72 hours of power reserve.
'Zulu' is aviation shorthand for UTC; Longines first used the Zulu Time name in 1925.
